Since childhood, I have always had the desire to serve others. I grew up in a rural town in south Texas in which care for special education and special needs was widely overlooked. The need for care hit close to home as two members of my family were diagnosed with developmental disabilities. From there, I felt a need and desire to serve my family and others with special needs in any capacity.
I found my passion for applied behavioral analysis in 2017 while working as a behavior tech. From there, I continued to study and began pursuing a career in early childhood intervention. In May of 2017, I earned my Masters of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in Human Development and Early Childhood Disorders. I continued my studies by obtaining a graduate certificate in applied behavior analysis from Florida Institute of Technology, and completed my BCBA certification in May 2021. I am excited to see how I can serve the children and families at ART!
When I am not working as a BCBA or reading the latest articles from JABA (Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis), I enjoy doing anything outdoors. I enjoy running, hiking, camping, and trying to have the same energy level as my Australian Shepard. You can most likely find me anywhere with trees or no cell service.
